Sync product and price changes from Shopify to AutoDS

Automatically reflect Shopify product updates on AutoDS to save time and reduce manual edits.

Introduction

This article explains how the Shopify to AutoDS product sync feature works. When you update product details on Shopify—like the title, description, price, inventory, or images—those changes will automatically reflect on AutoDS.

This feature helps save time, ensures consistency between your selling channel and AutoDS, and reduces the chance of errors from manual updates.

⚠️ Important: 

We always recommend making product changes directly on the AutoDS platform rather than editing them in your store.

This is because when price and stock monitoring is enabled, AutoDS will automatically update your product based on supplier changes, helping you avoid outdated information and potential losses.

Automatically Syncs

When you change the following product details on Shopify, AutoDS will sync the updates automatically:

Field Changed in Shopify Effect in AutoDS
Title The product title is updated silently.
Description

Your AutoDS listing description will be replaced with the updated Shopify version.

⚠️ Important: If your product page was generated with AI, you cannot edit the template from either AutoDS or Shopify. The only options are to generate a new page or remove the AI-generated page completely.

Price

Sell price and profit are recalculated based on your pricing settings.

⚠️ Important: Changes can interfere with automation settings and profit calculations. If Dynamic Profit is enabled, AutoDS will recalculate profit automatically.

Inventory / Quantity

The available quantity is synced from Shopify, unless overwritten by supplier monitoring rules.

⚠️ Important: Inventory is also affected by supplier settings and inventory rules (see details below). If “Track quantity” is disabled on Shopify, AutoDS will show the item as On Hold.

Tags Shopify product tags will replace existing tags in AutoDS.
Collections AutoDS collections update based on Shopify collections.
Images and Videos Images sync automatically. Videos sync to your selling channel but won’t display inside AutoDS. For watermarking, we recommend editing directly on AutoDS using the built-in image editor.

 

⚠️ Important: 

  • Sync works even if monitoring is turned off (stock/price monitoring settings do not block Shopify → AutoDS updates).

  • Notifications only appear for price changes. All other updates (title, description, images, etc.) are applied silently in the background.

  • Inventory rules:

    • If Shopify available < Minimum Product Quantity → AutoDS sets product to Out of stock.

    • If Track quantity is off in Shopify → AutoDS sets status to On Hold.

    • If Sell price < Buy price → AutoDS sets status to On Hold.

⚠️ Note: These are the most common AutoDS inventory rules. Additional rules may apply depending on your settings.


Monitoring interaction

With monitoring enabled

  • Supplier changes override Shopify edits for price and stock.

  • AutoDS ensures product data is always aligned with supplier info.

  • Price Monitoring must be enabled to receive notifications for price changes.

With monitoring disabled

  • Shopify edits remain as you set them.

  • Supplier price and stock updates will not be applied automatically.

 

Dynamic Profit

  • Dynamic Profit applies only to new products added after it is enabled.

  • However, if you edit a product’s price in Shopify and that supplier uses Dynamic Profit, AutoDS recalculates profit automatically— even if the product was added before enabling Dynamic Profit.
