Sync product and price changes from Shopify to AutoDS

Automatically reflect Shopify product updates on AutoDS to save time and reduce manual edits.

Note before you start:

We always recommend making product changes directly on the AutoDS platform rather than editing them in your store.

This is because when price and stock monitoring is enabled, AutoDS will automatically update your product based on supplier changes, helping you avoid outdated information and potential losses.

Introduction

This article explains how the Shopify to AutoDS product sync feature works. When you update product details on Shopify—like the title, description, price, inventory, or images—those changes will automatically reflect on AutoDS.

This feature helps save time, ensures consistency between your selling channel and AutoDS, and reduces the chance of errors from manual updates.

Benefits

  • Keep AutoDS and Shopify product info always aligned.

  • Automatically sync product fields like title, price, inventory, images, tags, and description.

  • Shopify updates apply in near real-time.

Note: Only price changes trigger a visible notification. All other changes sync silently in the background.

Automatically Syncs

When you change the following product details on Shopify, AutoDS will sync the updates automatically:

Field Changed in Shopify

Effect in AutoDS

Title

The product title is updated silently.

Description

Your AutoDS listing description will be replaced with the updated Shopify version.

Price

Sell price and profit will be recalculated based on your pricing settings. You will receive a notification for this change.

Inventory

AutoDS will sync the available stock. If “Track quantity” is disabled on Shopify, the product will show as “On Hold” in AutoDS.

Tags

Shopify product tags will replace existing tags in AutoDS.

Collections

AutoDS collections will update based on Shopify collections.

Images and Videos

Images will be synced and visible on the AutoDS platform.

Videos will be added to the selling channel as expected, but they will not be displayed within the AutoDS platform.

If you want your images to include a watermark, we recommend using the AutoDS platform instead, where you can edit images and apply watermarks using the built-in tool.

Sync works independently from monitoring toggles

Even if price or stock monitoring is off, Shopify changes will still be synced.

Price and Stock Monitoring Enabled

If you have Price and Stock Monitoring enabled in AutoDS, the system will always prioritize supplier changes. This means that any price or stock changes made by your supplier will override any edits you make directly in Shopify.

  • AutoDS will automatically update the product’s price and stock availability based on supplier changes. Meaning, your manual changes in Shopify (for price or stock) will be replaced unless monitoring is turned off.

  • Price Monitoring must be enabled to receive notifications for price changes.

Price and Stock Monitoring Disabled

If you prefer to keep the manual changes made in Shopify, you’ll need to disable both monitoring features. However, we do not recommend this if you want to keep your product data accurate and up to date.

If the features are disabled, supplier price changes will not be detected or updated, and you won’t receive any notifications.

🔁 Dynamic Profit

If you’ve already enabled Dynamic Profit, it only applies automatically to new products — meaning, products that were published after you turned Dynamic Profit on.

However, there’s a second case to consider:

If you change the price of a product directly on Shopify, and that product is from a supplier where Dynamic Profit is active, then the profit for that product will also be recalculated automatically based on your Dynamic Profit settings.

So, even if the product wasn’t originally affected by Dynamic Profit (because it was added before you enabled it), updating its price from Shopify can still trigger a Dynamic Profit recalculation.

Possible Issues & Workarounds

  • Issue: Price or stock is different than Shopify after the update.

Solution: If monitoring is enabled, supplier settings may override Shopify data. Try disabling monitoring if you want Shopify to take priority.

  • Issue: Video not visible in AutoDS.

Solution: Video sync happens in the backend and is not currently shown in the platform.
