Every product you upload from a supplier follows the default settings you configure for that supplier in AutoDS, from the shipping method and listing template to how AutoDS monitors its price and stock. This article explains the Lister and General settings in Supplier Settings, what each one changes in your uploads, and which ones to review before you start uploading products to your dropshipping store. Before you configure them, confirm your supplier is supported for product uploads.
Key points about Lister and General settings
Lister and General settings are configured per supplier in Settings → Supplier Settings. Lister controls how each new listing is built, including shipping methods, templates, and policies. General controls how AutoDS monitors products from that supplier, such as Ship to Country, weight unit, and stock thresholds.
Lister settings apply only to new uploads. To update products you already uploaded, use bulk actions on the Products page.
Monitoring settings in Settings → Supplier Settings → General also apply to products you have already uploaded, starting with the next scheduled monitoring scan, including Ship to Country, Minimum Product Quantity, and Prime only, on every AutoDS plan except Import 200. On the Import 200 plan, which does not include price and stock monitoring, these settings apply only when a product is uploaded.
Shipping Method Selection and Include shipping price settings decide how shipping is added to your product price. Choose between the cheapest option, the cheapest with tracking, or the fastest with tracking.
Allow Vero/Blocked Keywords and Allow Duplicates can put your account at risk. Enable them only when you have the right to sell branded items or intentionally need backup listings.
To use Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA) for Walmart orders, keep Walmart only turned off.
Lister Settings: what to configure and why
Lister settings let you define default preferences for your product uploads, including product details, shipping methods, templates, and policies for each supplier and store. You configure them in Settings → Supplier Settings → Lister, and once set, they apply automatically to all new uploads from that supplier.
Configuring Lister settings once per supplier saves you from editing each listing manually and keeps your listings consistent.
How to access Lister settings
To configure your upload preferences:
Go to Settings → Supplier Settings → Lister.
Define store-specific and supplier-specific defaults for new uploads.
Note: Changes in Lister settings apply only to newly uploaded products. To update listings you already uploaded, use bulk actions on the Products page. Learn how here.
Main Lister settings
The table below summarizes the main Lister settings and their impact on your product uploads.
Setting | What it does | Why it matters |
Copy From Another Supplier | Duplicates your existing Lister settings to a new supplier. | Saves time by avoiding repetitive configuration when you add new suppliers. |
Default Product Quantity | Sets the number of units shown in your store for each new listing. | Controls the perceived availability that buyers see.
|
Default Item Country (eBay stores only, API-connected) | Sets the default item location shown on your eBay listings, meaning the country where the product is stored and ships from. | Ensures accurate location data for eBay compliance and helps buyers estimate delivery time. |
Zip Code (eBay stores only, API-connected) | Sets the postal code the product ships from. | Resolves shipping location automatically, reducing buyer questions about shipping origin. |
Shipping Method Selection | Chooses how AutoDS calculates shipping. Learn how each shipping method works below. | Balances cost savings against delivery speed and tracking visibility. |
Default Listing Template (eBay stores only) | Assigns a template to every new listing from that supplier, created and managed in the Templates tab. | Keeps branding and formatting consistent, saving time on manual work. |
Use Dynamic Policies (eBay stores only, API-connected) | Generates eBay business policies automatically, based on estimated delivery dates. | Adapts policies to match real shipping times, reducing policy violations and buyer complaints. |
Payment Policy (eBay stores only) | Defines which payment methods your listings accept. | Clarifies how buyers can pay, reducing checkout friction. |
Shipping Policy (eBay and Etsy stores only) | Defines the delivery time and cost shown on your listings. | Sets clear delivery expectations, reducing disputes and negative feedback. |
Return Policy (eBay stores only) | Defines your return window, conditions, and who pays return shipping. | Protects your business while giving buyers confidence to purchase. |
Note: Some settings, such as templates and specific policies, are not available for all store types.
Shipping method configuration
The Shipping Method Selection setting, in Settings → Supplier Settings → Lister, controls how AutoDS calculates the shipping cost and delivery estimate for new listings. You can choose between:
Cheapest: The lowest-cost shipping option from the supplier.
Cheapest with tracking: The cheapest option that includes tracking.
Fastest with tracking: The fastest option that includes tracking.
These shipping method names reflect how AutoDS monitors supplier shipping. They are different from the Economy, Standard, and Express fields you may see in your supplier settings.
Example: how the shipping method changes the product cost
The shipping method you select changes the shipping cost that AutoDS adds to the supplier's price. For example, for an AliExpress product with a base price of $5, the monitored cost changes by method:
Cheapest: The supplier's cheapest shipping costs $0.64, for a total monitored cost of $5.64.
Cheapest with tracking: The cheapest tracked option costs $1.72, for a total monitored cost of $6.72.
Fastest with tracking: The fastest tracked option costs $6.90, for a total monitored cost of $11.90.
These values are examples only. The actual shipping cost varies by product, supplier, and destination, and AutoDS applies it automatically based on the shipping method you select, so you do not need to enter it in any settings field.
To check the actual shipping cost of a specific product, use View Source Product on the Drafts page, or click the Buy Item ID link on the Products page to open the product on the supplier's website.
Shipping method and "Include shipping price"
Shipping Method Selection works with the Include shipping price setting in Pricing Settings to ensure your final product price reflects both the supplier cost and the shipping method you selected. Including shipping costs in your source price protects your profit margins from unexpected changes in supplier shipping fees, since the shipping cost is added to the base product price before your pricing rules apply, keeping your markup consistent. See how AutoDS calculates your selling price here.
Product monitoring, AI tools, and item specifics
Stock Monitoring and Price Monitoring automatically update your listings when supplier stock or pricing changes. Learn how price and stock monitoring work here.
AI Title and AI Description generate buyer-oriented titles and descriptions for new listings. Learn how AutoDS AI tools work here.
Default item specifics let you predefine product attributes, such as material or brand, that AutoDS applies automatically to all new uploads. This matters most on eBay, which requires detailed attributes for search visibility and compliance.

Advanced Lister Settings
Advanced Lister Settings, found under Settings → Supplier Settings → Lister → Advanced Lister Settings, help you scale faster by automating edge cases: filtering risky products, managing variant complexity, and staying compliant with marketplace rules.
Setting | What it does | Why it matters |
Allow Duplicates | Skips duplicate checks when uploading. | Not recommended for eBay, since it can lead to listing violations and account warnings. Enable only when you intentionally need backup listings. If you manage multiple stores or accounts, learn how to link stores and prevent duplicate listings across accounts here. |
Allow OOS Variations | Uploads product variants even when they are out of stock with the supplier. | Keeps your variant structure complete, but requires you to monitor inventory to avoid selling unavailable items. |
Capitalize Title | Converts each word in the title to uppercase, for example, "New Jacket For Man." | Standardizes title formatting across your listings. |
Autofill Brand | When disabled, uses "Does not apply" instead of auto-detecting the brand. | Reduces VeRO violation risk from unauthorized use of brand names. See Copyright and VeRO. |
Split Variants into Products | Uploads each variant as a separate listing instead of using the variant system. | Increases your listing count and can improve search visibility, but requires more inventory management. |
Allow VERO/Blocked Keywords | Uploads products even when VeRO-flagged or blocked terms are detected. | High risk. Only use this when you have explicit rights to sell branded items. Learn how VeRO protection works here. |
Upload Variations | Uploads products with their variants in a single listing. If disabled, each product uploads as a single-variant product. | Consolidates similar products into one listing, improving buyer experience and reducing listing fees on most platforms. |
Apply Watermark | Automatically adds your custom watermark to product images. | Protects your images from being copied by competitors and reinforces your brand identity. Learn more in Store settings. |
Duplicate Main Image up to 12 | Repeats the main product image to fill all available image slots. | Enhances your visual presence and can increase click-through rates on platforms that display multiple thumbnails. |
Allow Marketplace Sellers | Lets AutoDS monitor and source from non-retailer sellers, such as FBM sellers on Amazon. | Expands your seller options, but may reduce reliability. Use with caution. |
Private Listing (eBay stores only) | Hides buyer information from public feedback. | Prevents competitors from tracking and copying your winning products. |
Important: Split Variants into Products and Upload Variations produce opposite results. To import each variant individually, enable Split Variants into Products, disable Upload Variations, and select Multiple Products / Stores in Add Products during the upload process. Learn how to upload products with variants here.
General Settings: what to configure and why
General settings, in Settings → Supplier Settings → General, establish default configurations for product monitoring and inventory behavior: weight units, SKU handling, Ship to Country, and supplier selection logic for every product you upload from that supplier.
Warehouse region and Ship to Country
Before uploading products to your store, review two supplier settings that affect where your products ship from and how AutoDS reads their data:
Warehouse region: The physical location where products ship from. You select it when adding the supplier to AutoDS.
Ship to Country: How AutoDS monitors product data from the supplier, such as pricing, currency, and stock. It is available only for the suppliers that have the Ship to Country setting: Alibaba, AliExpress, Banggood, CJ Dropshipping, DHgate, Etsy, LightInTheBox, Miniinthebox, Shein, Shopify Supplier, TikTok (as a supplier), and Wish. All other suppliers, including Amazon, Walmart, and eBay, do not have this setting. Learn how to choose and configure Ship to Country.
Important: When you add a new AliExpress product, the default warehouse is set to China, even if your Ship to Country is configured differently. To ship from another warehouse region, such as the UK or an EU country, manually select it during the product import process, choosing one of the warehouse regions supported for AliExpress. A warehouse region outside that list stops the upload.
Default Weight Unit
The default weight unit setting lets you choose between pounds, kilograms, and other available units to keep weight measurements consistent across your products. This is an account-level default, not a forced conversion: if a product's weight is supplied by the supplier in a different unit, AutoDS keeps that supplier-provided unit in the product's Special Weight field instead of converting it to your Default Weight Unit. Choosing the correct unit is essential for calculating accurate shipping costs, displaying correct shipping weights on your listings, and meeting your selling channel's requirements. Choose the unit that matches your primary selling region.
To change it, go to Supplier Settings → General tab and update the Default Weight Unit field.
Automatic SKU Filling
The SKU is a unique code that identifies and tracks products in your inventory. In Supplier Settings → General settings, Automatic SKU Filling controls how AutoDS populates the SKU field, also called the custom label, for your listings.
Automatic SKU Filling enabled: AutoDS uses the original SKU from the supplier's site in your custom label field. This helps you track products using the supplier's own SKU system, especially useful for large catalogs with consistent supplier SKUs, but it exposes supplier information to competitors who can identify your sources.
Automatic SKU Filling disabled (recommended): AutoDS generates unique identifiers instead, protecting your best-selling items from competitors' research tools and giving you more control over your inventory identification system.
To change it, open Supplier Settings → General tab, find Automatic SKU Filling, and enable or disable it. To fix SKU errors on eBay multi-variant listings, see eBay common errors and solutions.
Minimum product quantity
Minimum Product Quantity places a product on hold, at quantity 0, when the supplier's stock falls below the threshold you set, so you avoid selling items your supplier may not have in stock when an order comes in.
For example, with a minimum product quantity of 5 units, if the supplier's stock drops to 3 units, AutoDS sets the product quantity to 0. The product remains on hold until the supplier's stock increases above your threshold, or until you change the setting.
Minimum Product Quantity is a monitoring setting, so it applies to new uploads and, on every AutoDS plan except Import 200, to products you already uploaded from that supplier, starting from the next scheduled monitoring scan. On the Import 200 plan, it is checked against the supplier’s stock only when a product is uploaded. Learn how monitoring scans apply this threshold here.
You set the Minimum Product Quantity in Supplier Settings, not from the Products page. To set it:
Go to Settings → Supplier Settings → General.
Locate the monitoring settings section.
Set your Minimum Product Quantity threshold.
Click "Save".
Note: Minimum Product Quantity is different from the Default product quantity (configured in Settings → Supplier Settings → Lister), which sets the starting stock number shown for a new listing. On every AutoDS plan except Import 200, a change to the Minimum Product Quantity applies to all existing products starting from the next scheduled monitoring scan. A change to the default product quantity applies only to new products uploaded after you save the change.
Maximum Shipping Days
Maximum Shipping Days places a product on hold, at quantity 0, when the estimated delivery time exceeds the limit you set, preventing late arrivals and customer complaints.
AutoDS checks the delivery estimate using standard shipping ZIP codes for each supplier (for example, 10020 for Amazon US) in incognito mode, without being logged in to any account. Because of this, the delivery estimate reflects the standard, non-logged-in shipping time, not membership-specific delivery times such as Amazon Prime. When an order is placed, the delivery time shown is the one displayed at the time of purchase on your buyer account.
Important: Maximum Shipping Days uses the delivery date, not the shipping date.
Amazon as a supplier: Buy Box and supplier table
If you use Amazon as a supplier to source products for other selling channels, AutoDS monitors the Amazon Buy Box to track pricing, availability, and stock. AutoDS monitors the Buy Box first, and if a product is unavailable there, whether out of stock, not Prime-eligible, or offered by a different seller, AutoDS falls back to the supplier table. To ensure reliability, AutoDS only considers sellers with at least 80% positive feedback and 500 or more ratings, and monitoring is limited to sellers on the first page of the suppliers list.
Choose from Suppliers Table controls how AutoDS prioritizes alternative Amazon sellers when the Buy Box seller is unavailable:
Cheapest First: Selects the lowest-priced seller, best if your priority is profit margin.
Prime First: Selects Prime-eligible sellers first, best if your priority is fast, reliable shipping.
To change this, go to Supplier Settings → General tab for your Amazon supplier and region, and select Cheapest First or Prime First.
Prime only
Prime only keeps Prime-eligible products from Amazon active in your store, so your orders get faster shipping and more reliable fulfillment.
To identify Prime-eligible products, AutoDS checks whether the Ships from field on the Amazon product page shows Amazon. On Amazon, Ships from refers to where the stock ships from and who prepares the package, so it shows whether the product is fulfilled by Amazon. When Prime only is enabled, products that are not shipped from Amazon can still be imported and monitored, but AutoDS sets them to On Hold, quantity 0, to prevent new sales. Prime only also applies to orders: if the product is not shipped from Amazon when the order is processed, AutoDS stops the order to protect your revenue. Learn how to resolve this order error here.
If Prime only is disabled, AutoDS chooses an alternative seller based on your Choose from Suppliers Table preference (Cheapest First or Prime First, in Supplier Settings → General tab), which offers more pricing flexibility but may mean longer shipping times.
Prime shipping with Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA): FBA automation always uses Amazon Prime accounts to process orders for products shipped by Amazon, so orders above $35 always qualify for free Prime shipping. Products not shipped by Amazon may incur separate shipping costs, regardless of the order amount.
To import products with Prime shipping:
Go to Settings → Supplier Settings.
Select the supplier in the supplier list.
Click the General tab.
In the Monitoring section, check Prime only.
Click "Save".
Go to the Amazon product page you want to upload.
Select the Prime option on the product.
Grab the URL or Buy ID to upload on AutoDS.
If you skip these steps, products are imported without the Prime option, even if you selected it on the supplier's website.
Walmart only
Walmart only controls how AutoDS monitors and fulfills products sourced from Walmart membership sellers. When enabled, AutoDS tracks only products from Walmart membership sellers that meet specific quality and performance standards, helping your orders arrive on time. If the Buy Box seller is not a Walmart member, AutoDS automatically sets the product to On Hold.
To turn Walmart only on or off:
Go to Settings → Supplier Settings.
Select your Walmart supplier in the supplier list.
Click the General tab.
In the Monitoring section, check or uncheck Walmart only.
Click "Save".
Important: Walmart (United States) supports Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA) order automation only when Walmart only is turned off. If you use FBA for your Walmart orders, make sure Walmart only is disabled in Supplier Settings → General tab, since keeping it enabled may prevent your Walmart FBA orders from being processed. Walmart is not supported for Auto-Order, so if you keep Walmart only enabled, your Walmart orders need to be processed manually.
How these settings affect your shipping estimate
After you import a product, the shipping estimate on your listing depends on the settings covered in this article: default weight unit, Shipping Method Selection, Maximum Shipping Days, and, for eBay stores, your Shipping Policy. The actual shipping time depends on the supplier and your target country, so check the supplier's shipping options before you upload. To see how to check whether a supplier ships to your country, click here.
For AutoDS Marketplace products, each product card already shows the estimated shipping time on the preview. For Print on Demand products, click "View shipping options" to see all available shipping methods and delivery timeframes by region.
Best practice: Add a buffer of approximately 5 days to your estimated shipping time to account for supplier order processing time (usually minutes to a few hours, but up to 72 hours in rare cases), the distance between the shipping country and the destination, and potential delays such as holidays, carrier delays, or customs clearance. Many sellers focus only on the shortest possible delivery time, since it is attractive to customers, but missing it can lead to negative reviews that affect your store's reputation.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Why does my Prime only setting keep reverting after I save it?
Why does my Prime only setting keep reverting after I save it?
If a setting, such as Prime only, appears to save but reverts after a refresh, first try a hard refresh of the page and reopen the Supplier Settings tab. If the setting still reverts, try an incognito or private browser window. If it still does not save, please let us know so the AutoDS support team can investigate.
