Introduction
Product templates in AutoDS allow you to customize your product listings with branded content, design, and structure for your dropshipping store. A clear, professional template helps build trust with potential buyers and boost conversions by presenting your products in a consistent, visually appealing format.
The product templates feature enables you to create reusable layouts that include your branding elements, custom design, and structured content. You can start with AutoDS default templates and customize them to match your store's identity, or create entirely new templates from scratch using HTML editing capabilities.
Important: Product templates are only supported for eBay stores. For Shopify stores, try the AI Page Template feature.
Benefits of using product templates
Using product templates for your dropshipping listings provides several advantages that can improve both your store's appearance and your operational efficiency:
Enhance your store's visual identity: Product templates allow you to maintain consistent branding across all your listings, creating a professional appearance that customers can recognize and trust.
Increase buyer trust and engagement: A well-designed template with clear product information and professional formatting helps build credibility with potential buyers, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates.
Save time by reusing a consistent layout: Once you create a template, you can apply it to multiple listings without recreating the same design elements, significantly reducing the time spent on product uploads.
Support HTML editing for advanced customization: Product templates support custom HTML code, giving you complete control over the design and functionality of your listings for advanced branding and layout options.
How to access product templates
To access the product templates feature in your AutoDS account and view your available templates, follow these steps:
Navigate to your Settings in your AutoDS account.
Open the Templates tab.
Review the AutoDS Templates section, which contains default built-in templates based on eBay. These templates are provided by AutoDS and serve as starting points that you can preview or duplicate to create your own customized versions.
Under the My Templates section, it will display all your saved or customized templates. Any template you create or duplicate from the default templates will appear here, allowing you to manage and edit your personal template collection.

How to customize a template
Customizing a template allows you to personalize the design, content, and layout to match your store's branding and product presentation needs. To customize a template in AutoDS, follow these steps:
Navigate to the My Templates tab where all your saved templates are displayed.
Locate the template you want to customize and click the Edit button.
Review the template editor that opens, displaying the template's current design and structure.
Add or modify text sections, insert images, adjust spacing and alignment, and change design elements like colors and borders as needed. The editor provides a visual preview so you can see your changes in real time.
If you want to add custom HTML code, click the Source button to access the HTML editor, paste your own HTML code or make advanced customizations, then switch back to preview mode to continue editing visually or to review how your changes appear.
Click Update to save your modifications after making all your desired changes to the template.
Important: Do not delete required macros like title, image, or description. These macros pull dynamic product data from your source and are essential for your listings to display correctly. Removing required macros will cause your product listings to appear incomplete or fail to upload properly.
Tip: If you already have your own HTML code prepared, click Source, paste it into the editor, then switch back to preview mode to continue editing or to see how your code renders in the template.
How to create a blank template
Creating a blank template gives you complete control over the design and structure from scratch, which is ideal when you have specific branding requirements or custom HTML code.
To create a blank template in AutoDS, follow these steps:
Navigate to the My Templates section in your product templates page.
Click + Add Blank Template to create a new blank template.
Review the template editor that opens with an empty canvas.
Build your template by adding all the elements you need, including text sections, images, layout components, and custom HTML code.
Structure the content hierarchy, choose where to place product information, and create a unique visual presentation that aligns with your brand identity.
Include the required macros (title, main image, description) using the macro insertion tools in the template editor or by adding them directly in the HTML source code if you're working with custom code.
Click Update to save your blank template when you finish designing it.
Important: Always include required macros (title, main image, description) for listings to function properly. Even when starting with a blank template, these macros are essential because they pull the dynamic product data from your source. Without these required macros, your product listings will not display correctly or may fail to upload to your selling platform.
