Troubleshooting steps to fix missing tracking updates in your AutoDS orders

In some cases, tracking numbers may not update automatically in your orders, when you are using Auto-Order as your automation method in AutoDS. This guide explains why it happens, how to troubleshoot, and what to do if you need to add the tracking manually.

⚠️ Important:

  • Automatic tracking updates for Auto-Order using buyer accounts are only supported for Amazon, AliExpress, and HomeDepot.

  • Ensure the order was shipped at least 12 hours ago (tracking updates usually take 6–12 hours).

 

Setting things up

To make sure tracking numbers update automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Enable the Orders Processor Add-On in your account settings ($9.90/mo after 14-day trial).

  2. Add your Buyer Account to AutoDS with the correct email and password.

  3. Set up 2-Factor Authentication properly for Amazon accounts.

  4. Configure email forwarding so AutoDS can retrieve tracking emails.

  5. Check your Buyer Account status. It should be Active (auto-order + tracking updates) or Tracking Updates Only (if auto-order is disabled).


 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: My tracking is not updating even though the order was shipped. What should I do?
A:

For Auto-Orders:

    1. Check if the Buy Order ID was retrieved. If it shows as Unknown in AutoDS, tracking cannot update.

    2. Copy the Buy Order ID from your supplier site and enter it in the order details inside AutoDS.

    3. Make sure it matches exactly as shown on the supplier site.

    4. Tracking should update within 6–12 hours. If not, submit a ticket.


For Manual Orders:

    1. Confirm that you entered the correct Buy Order ID.

    2. Make sure the order was processed using the right Buyer Account.

Q: Why is my Buyer Account on Hold and preventing tracking updates?
A: If your Buyer Account is on Hold, AutoDS cannot retrieve tracking. Common reasons include:

  • “Failed update tracking number – LOGIN_FAILED” → Your Amazon buyer account is restricted. Contact Amazon Support to reinstate it.

  • “Could not get a verification email from connected email account 500” → AutoDS couldn’t access the forwarded Gmail. Make sure:

Q: I use Amazon Canada (CA) as the supplier. Why are tracking details not updating?
A: Tracking updates are supported only for Amazon AU, DE, FR, UK, and US. For unsupported regions like CA, you’ll need to manually update tracking.

To manually add the tracking number, go to the Orders page > look for the order > click the 3 dots menu > choose the Edit Order option.

After that, go to the Orders tab and under the Purchase Info section, add the Tracking Number and Shipping Carrier. Click Save.


Q: Why is the tracking number not updating on the platform?

A: Tracking updates usually take 6–12 hours after the supplier ships the order. If it doesn’t update:

  1. Double-check your settings, Buyer Account, and order details.

  2. If everything is correct and it’s still not updating, contact the Support Team.
