AutoDS Drafts: complete guide to manage, edit, and import your products

Learn how to manage your product drafts effectively before publishing them to your store

Introduction

The Drafts page in AutoDS lets you review, edit, and customize products before they go live in your store. By working with drafts, you gain full control over your listings and can avoid publishing errors.

By the end of this guide, you’ll know exactly how to locate, edit, and publish your product drafts.

Whether you upload products manually or through AutoDS automation, the Drafts page gives you a chance to polish each listing before it goes live.

 

 

 

Access the Drafts page

  1. In your AutoDS dashboard, click Drafts in the left-hand menu.

  2. The page will display all products you’ve added but not yet published.

Note:

Drafts are created whenever you import products and select Edit Now (Quick Now).

Products in Draft may show inaccurate stock or price information, as monitoring only begins after they are imported.

Drafts page overview

Here are the main actions available on the Drafts page:

Add Filter

Filter drafts by tag, supplier, or upload date.

Select Items Choose multiple drafts for bulk actions.
Bulk Edit Apply edits to multiple drafts (price, title, policies).
Remove from List Delete drafts.
Import All Publish all selected drafts at once.
Bulk AI Rewrite Optimize titles and descriptions with AI.
Schedule Listings Plan a date/time for drafts to publish automatically.
View History Track changes made to a draft.
Expand/Collapse All Quickly preview multiple drafts.
Add Note Leave internal notes on drafts.

For each draft, you can see the destination store, Selected supplier, Variants count, and  'View source product' to check the product on the source site. 

 


 

Import method

The import method section includes different tabs and actions to help you manage your drafts more efficiently:

Drafts tab The main tab where you can view and work on all your drafts.
Scheduled tab

Shows drafts scheduled for future publishing.

More actions (⋮ icon) Opens additional options for each draft, such as: Import to Shopify, Schedule listing, Save, or Delete the draft.

 


 

How to monitor import status progress

Each product draft has a status label in the right-hand column. These indicate whether the import was successful or if there’s an issue to address.

Import In Progress

The system is currently importing the product. This can take up to 30 minutes or more, depending on how many products are being imported or uploaded.

Wait for the import to complete. If not completed within 30 minutes, wait up to 24 hours before retrying, this could be due to server overload.

Imported Successfully

The product was imported without issues and is ready for editing or publishing.

Edit the draft or publish it directly.

Failed to Import

There was a problem with the product import. Hover over the status to view the reason for failure.

Correct the issue or delete the draft.

When a draft fails to import, hovering over the status label often reveals the exact reason—such asInternal error to the application.”. This helps you quickly identify and resolve issues without the guesswork.

 


 

Editing a draft product

Before publishing, you can click on a draft to open its Edit View. From here, you can update product details across different tabs:

Product name shown in your store. You can optimize it using AI Rewrite Feature.

Category / Collections

Organize your products using the same structure as your selling channel.

  • eBay uses Categories.

  • Other selling channels (like Shopify, Facebook, etc.) use Collections.

  • For Etsy sellers, you will need to assign a category manually to the product before importing it to your store.

Tags

Internal tags to help organize and filter products in your store.

Shipping and Policies
(eBay only)

Select predefined shipping, payment, and return policies saved in your Supplier Settings, or choose Dynamic Policies.

Country Location & Zip Code

Sets the product origin and zip code to match eBay requirements and ensure correct shipping calculations.

Brand

Specify the product’s brand (required by some selling channels).

Monitoring
(not available on Importer 200 plan).

Price Stock Monitoring: Updates price and stock based on supplier changes.

Auto Order: Enables automation for this product (requires setup per supplier).

for eBay stores

For eBay stores, you will be able to see and edit the Business Policies assigned to your Product.

Note: eBay Non-API stores work only with Dynamic Policies - Your own Business Policies will not be reflected here.

Description (Other channels)

Description & Templates

Manually edit or use a saved template to format your product description.

Bulk changes on the Drafts page

You can edit multiple drafts at once to optimize listings before importing them to your store.

 

Follow the steps below:

  1. Select the drafts you want to edit by checking their boxes.

    • To select all drafts, click the top checkbox and then choose Select all XXX products.

  2. Choose one of the available bulk actions:

    • Edit All → Apply changes in bulk to all selected drafts.

    • Import All → Publish all selected drafts directly to your store.

    • Remove from List → Delete the selected drafts from your Drafts page.

Importing products to your store

After reviewing and editing, you can import products individually or in bulk.

To import a single product

  1. Click the checkbox beside the product.

  2. Click the Import button on the right.

To import multiple products at once

  1. Select multiple checkboxes, or click the top checkbox to select all.

  2. Click Import from the top bar.

Once imported, the product(s) will move from the Drafts page to the Products page and appear in your store.

Note: You can also use filters or search to find specific products quickly before importing.

 


 

Possible Issues & Workarounds

Issue Explanation Solution
Unsupported URL The product link is not from a supported supplier.

Use a link from a supported supplier or upload via another method.

Missing details Important product data could not be retrieved. Try reimporting the product manually.
Draft not showing Product was saved incorrectly during import. Double-check your import settings to confirm it was saved as a draft.
Can’t edit certain fields Some fields may be locked depending on the supplier. Review the supplier’s settings or restrictions.
Pricing looks off Pricing rules may not have applied correctly. Review your rules in Settings > Pricing. Draft edits override global rules only for that product.

 


 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How long do drafts stay on the Drafts page?
A: Drafts remain until you delete or publish them. There’s no expiration date.

Q: Can I bulk edit drafts?
A: Yes. Select multiple drafts and use bulk tools to edit or publish them.

Q: What’s the difference between importing as a draft and importing directly?
A: Drafts let you review and customize before publishing. Importing directly skips this step and publishes immediately.

Q: What happens if a product is stuck in “Import in Progress”?
A: Wait a few minutes. If the status doesn’t change, refresh the page. If it still doesn’t update, try reimporting the product or contact our Support team.

Q: Can I delete failed drafts?
A: Yes. Select the draft and click Delete to remove it from the Drafts page.

Q: Can I edit a draft before publishing it?
A: Absolutely. You can edit the product title, description, pricing, images, policies, and more before publishing.
