Update shipping, product, and supplier details in your orders to improve accuracy and streamline fulfillment.
Introduction
Sometimes an order contains mistakes or needs adjustments. In AutoDS, you can edit details such as the shipping address, supplier, or product before the order is fully processed.
This guide explains how to update orders step by step to ensure smooth fulfillment, prevent errors, and improve the customer experience.

Orders can only be edited while in Pending or Failed status.

Step-by-step instructions

Go to the Orders Page in your AutoDS dashboard.

Find and select the order you want to edit.

Click the three dots/edit icon next to the order and choose edit order.

Update details in the available tabs, and click save to confirm your changes.
Note: If you’re using automation, you can change the order status to Send to Auto Order after all information has been updated and saved.
Editing tabs explained
1. Buyer Tab
Field | Description |

First Name and Last Name |
Edit the buyer’s first and last name. |
Address, Country, State , City, and Zip code |
Correct or update the delivery address. Make sure all fields are complete and valid. |
Phone Number |
Update the buyer’s phone number. If “Override Customer’s Phone Number” is enabled, AutoDS replaces it with the default (9999999999) or a custom number you set. |
2. Order Tab

Status |
Change the order's current status (e.g., Failed → Pending). |
Tags | Add tags to categorize your orders (e.g., “VA-Name”, “Holiday-Sale”). |
Note | Add internal notes for your team to keep track of the order's progress or communicate specific details related to the buyer. |
Buy Order ID |
Edit the Buy Order ID (not editable for FBA). If you are using the Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA) service, this field will display "FBA Order" and should not be edited. |
Buyer Account |

Buy Price | Update the recorded buy price. |
Taxes | Edit the tax amounts applied at the supplier site. |
Fees % |

Tracking Number |
Enter or update the shipping tracking number. Automation updates this automatically, so it should not be edited. |

Select the correct carrier. Updated automatically when automation is active, so it should not be edited. |
3. Product Tab

Supplier |

Warehouse | Select the warehouse (e.g., US, CN, FR). |
Buy URL | Enter the supplier’s product URL. Ensure no spaces to avoid errors. |
Buy Variant ID |

Buy Product ID | Updates automatically when Buy URL or Variant ID changes. This field cannot be edited directly. |
⚠️ Important:
Use this tab only if you need to switch to a different product (Buy ID) from another supplier for this specific order.
This change will not modify the product details in your AutoDS account (e.g., title, description, or images). It only affects how this individual's order is fulfilled.

Possible Issues & Workarounds

Caused by the selling channel’s privacy settings. Adjust the address in the selling channel, then edit manually in AutoDS. |
Phone number reverts to default after editing |
Caused by Override Customer’s Phone Number setting. Disable it before editing. |
Changes aren’t saving |

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I change the shipping address after the order is processed?
A: The shipping address can be updated only while the order is in Pending or Failed status. Once it reaches In Order Progress, Ordered, or Shipped, the address is locked.
Q: What if I made a mistake, but the order has already been processed?
A: For orders processed with your buyer account, contact the supplier to request a return, edit, or cancellation.
For Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA) orders, once they are In Order Progress, edits and cancellations are not possible.

Q: My order failed with “Invalid Buyer Address,” but the address looks correct. What does this mean?
A: The supplier could not validate the address. Common reasons: missing fields, abbreviations, or special characters (appearing with ****). Edit the order and re-enter the address in full using Roman characters only.
