Change your plan, upgrade, downgrade, or add a selling channel to your account

Manage your AutoDS plan: identify your current subscription, upgrade or downgrade to a different plan tier, change your billing cycle, add a new selling channel, and understand variation limits.

This article covers everything you need to manage your AutoDS plan after you have signed up. As your dropshipping business grows, you may need to upgrade to a higher tier, add a new selling channel, or adjust your billing cycle. You can do all of this directly from your AutoDS account settings.

Key points

  • Upgrades take effect immediately. The price difference is charged at the time of confirmation.

  • Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, for both monthly and yearly plans.

  • Changing from a yearly or annual plan to monthly billing requires a support request. This change is not available directly in your account settings.

  • Changing your plan during the trial period ends the trial immediately. The full price of the new plan is charged right away.

  • If you reach your plan's variation limit, stock and price monitoring pauses, and new product uploads are blocked until you free up capacity or upgrade your plan.

How to identify your current subscription plan

Your current subscription plan for each connected selling channel is visible in your AutoDS account settings. The plan card for each selling channel displays the plan name, pricing, usage metrics, and available actions.

To check your current plan:

  1. Go to Settings and click Plans & Add-ons.

  2. In the "My Plans" section, locate the card for the relevant selling channel.

Plans and Add-ons page showing plan cards per selling channel

The table below describes each field displayed on the plan card.

Field

Description

Selling channel

The name of the selling channel (for example, Shopify or eBay).

Subscription plan

The name of the active plan (for example, Starter 500 or Advanced 1K). The number in the plan name indicates the product variation limit for that plan.

Plan price

The amount charged per billing cycle is shown as either the monthly or yearly rate, depending on the billing cycle selected.

Started on

The date the current subscription began.

Variations

The number of active product variations in use out of the plan limit, displayed as used/total (for example, 8/8,000).

Stores

The number of stores currently connected out of the plan limit for that selling channel, displayed as used/total (for example, 1/1). The store limit depends on the plan selected for that specific selling channel at the time of subscription.

Billing cycle

The active billing cycle (Monthly or Annual), displayed in orange.

Cancel

Located at the bottom left of the plan card. Cancels the subscription for that selling channel only, not the AutoDS account.

Upgrade Plan

Located at the bottom right of the plan card. Opens the plan selection page to change or upgrade the current plan.

Buy plan

Appears instead of Upgrade Plan when you do not yet have an active subscription for that selling channel. Click it to subscribe to a new plan for that channel.

Subscription plan card in Settings, Plans and Add-ons

Note: For accounts subscribed through a selling channel app or website (for example, the Shopify App Store) rather than the AutoDS website, the plan card may display differently, and billing is managed through that selling channel.

Note: If the AutoDS plan selection page appears after you have already signed up and paid for a subscription, your account may be logged in with the wrong email address. Check which email address is currently logged in (visible in the top right corner of the AutoDS platform), then log out and log back in using the email address used at sign-up. If you do not know your sign-up email, check your inbox for the AutoDS registration confirmation email or a payment receipt from AutoDS.

Tip: Check the Variations field regularly to monitor usage. If the count is close to your plan limit, consider removing unused products or upgrading to a higher-tier plan to avoid disruption to price and stock monitoring.

How to upgrade or downgrade your plan

You can upgrade or downgrade your AutoDS subscription plan at any time from your account settings. Whether you want to switch to a higher tier or change to a lower plan, both actions use the same flow.

To upgrade or downgrade your plan:

  1. Go to Settings and click Plans & Add-ons.

  2. Find the selling channel you want to change.

  3. Click Upgrade Plan at the bottom right of the plan card.

  4. On the plan selection page, use the billing cycle toggle to choose Annual or Monthly, then select the new plan tier. To access lower-tier plans for a downgrade, click the "Need More?" link below the Enterprise plans on the same page.

  5. Review the confirmation pop-up, which shows the cost and your current payment method. You can change your payment method here before confirming, if needed.

  6. Click Confirm. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Note: Before downgrading to a plan with a lower variation limit, verify that your current variation usage is within the new plan's limit. Go to SettingsPlans & Add-ons and check the Variations field on your plan card. If your usage exceeds the new plan's limit, remove products first. To learn more about how variations work and how they are counted, see the "Variation limits" section below.

Note: The Upgrade Plan button only appears for selling channels you are already subscribed to. If you see Buy plan instead, you do not yet have an active subscription for that channel. To subscribe to a new selling channel, see the "Add a selling channel to your account" section below.

Plan change timing and billing

The timing and billing of a plan change depend on whether you are upgrading, downgrading, or switching your billing cycle.

  • Upgrading to a higher-tier plan: Upgrades take effect immediately upon confirmation. The price difference between your current plan and the new plan is charged at the time of confirmation.

  • Downgrading to a lower-tier plan: Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, for both monthly and yearly plans. You retain access to your current plan until that date.

  • Switching from a monthly plan to a yearly plan: You can switch from a monthly plan to a yearly plan at any time using the billing cycle toggle on the plan selection page. The change takes effect immediately, and the yearly amount is charged upfront.

  • Switching from a yearly plan to a monthly plan: Changing from a yearly or annual plan to a monthly plan requires a support request. This change is not available directly in your account settings. Please let us know, and our team will process it for you. Your account must be active for this change to be processed. If your account is currently inactive or on hold, reactivate it before submitting the request.

  • Changing your plan during the trial period: Upgrading or changing your plan during the trial period ends the trial immediately, and the full price of the new plan is charged right away. If you selected the wrong plan at registration, please let us know before making any changes. Our team can evaluate whether your plan can be changed without ending your trial.

Variation limits and how they are counted

Each AutoDS subscription plan includes a total variation limit, which is the maximum number of active product variations your account can hold at any given time across all connected stores for that selling channel. This is not a monthly upload limit. It is the total capacity of your plan at any point in time.

A variation is any unique combination of product attributes, such as size and color. For example, a product with 3 sizes and 3 colors counts as 9 variations (3 x 3 = 9). Products with additional attributes (such as material, pattern, or style) can have significantly more variations depending on the number of combinations. The limit applies to all published products across every store connected to your dropshipping account for that selling channel.

How to check your current variation usage

Variation limit display in Settings, Plans and Add-ons

  1. Go to Settings and click Plans & Add-ons.

  2. In the My Plans section, find the plan card for your selling channel.

  3. Look at the Variations field. It displays as used/total. For example, 8/8,000 means 8 variations are in use out of a limit of 8,000.

Why does the Variations field not update immediately?

The Variations field on your plan card in SettingsPlans & Add-ons does not update instantly after you delete a product. Depending on where you deleted it, one of the following applies:

  • Deleted in AutoDS: allow some time for the Variations field to reflect the correct total. The number shown may still include deleted products until the system processes the change. This usually updates within minutes but can take up to 24 hours.

  • Deleted directly in your selling channel (such as Shopify, eBay, or WooCommerce) instead of in AutoDS: the Variations field will not update until you also delete the product in AutoDS. Use the Delete only from AutoDS option if the product was already removed from your selling channel.

Note: Variations saved as drafts do not count toward your plan limit. Only variations published to your store are counted. To import a product with more variations than you intend to sell, import it as a draft first, remove unwanted variants, and then publish it to your store.

What happens when you reach your variation limit

If you reach the variation limit of your current plan, adding new products requires one of the following:

  • Delete existing products or variations to free up capacity within your current plan.

  • Upgrade to a higher-tier plan with a greater variation limit.

Until capacity is freed or the plan is upgraded, stock and price monitoring pauses and new product uploads are blocked.

Add a selling channel to your account

If you already have an AutoDS account and want to expand your dropshipping operations to a new selling channel, you can add it to your existing account without creating a new one. Each selling channel requires its own separate subscription plan, and you can subscribe to a plan for that channel directly from your account settings.

To add a new selling channel:

  1. Go to "Settings" and click "Plans & Add-ons".

  2. Find the selling channel you want to add. The plan card will display a "Buy plan" button instead of "Upgrade Plan".

  3. Click "Buy plan".

  4. On the plan selection page, use the billing cycle toggle to choose "Annual" or "Monthly", then select the plan tier you want.

  5. Review the confirmation pop-up, which shows the cost and your payment method. You can change your payment method here before confirming, if needed.

  6. Click "Confirm". The new plan activates immediately, and the amount is charged.

Note: Adding a new selling channel creates a separate subscription with its own billing cycle, variation limit, and store limit. It does not affect your existing plans for other selling channels.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Can I change from a yearly plan to a monthly plan?

You can change your plan from yearly to monthly, but this change requires a support request and is not available directly in your account settings. Please let us know, and our team will process the switch for you. Your account must be active for this change to be processed. If your account is currently inactive or on hold, reactivate it before submitting the request.

I accidentally upgraded my plan. Can I reverse it?

If you upgraded your plan by mistake, please let us know as soon as possible. If the change was made during the trial period, the trial ends immediately, and the full price of the new plan is charged. This cannot be reversed, and the trial period cannot be restored. Outside of the trial period, our team will review your account and evaluate the available options on a case-by-case basis.

Are there discounts available when upgrading my plan?

Discounts and special offers may be available depending on your account and subscription history. Please let us know that you are interested in upgrading, and our team will check if any offers apply to your account.

What should I do if I see error 422 on the platform?

Error 422 can occur in different contexts and may have different causes depending on where it appears:

  • If you see error 422 when subscribing to or updating your subscription plan, it can indicate that the funding source linked to your billing agreement was declined. Go to "Settings""Account & Billing", update your subscription payment method, and try again.

  • In other contexts, error 422 generally indicates that an incorrect data format was used in a service interaction. The meaning varies depending on where the error occurs.

If the issue persists, please let us know and include a screenshot showing where the error appears so our team can investigate.

Can I move a store from one AutoDS account to another?

Moving a store between AutoDS accounts is not supported. AutoDS does not transfer stores, products, orders, or settings between accounts.

If you want to manage stores under separate subscriptions, you can add multiple subscription plans to the same AutoDS account. Each selling channel gets its own independent subscription and billing. To add a new subscription plan to your existing account, go to "Settings""Plans & Add-ons".
