Pause your account or cancel your AutoDS subscription

Learn how to pause your AutoDS account temporarily, cancel a selling channel, or cancel your AutoDS subscription entirely, and what happens to your data, stores, and billing in each case.

If you want to take a break from AutoDS or stop using the platform, you have three options: pause your account temporarily, cancel a selling channel to stop one subscription plan while keeping the rest of your account active, or cancel your AutoDS subscription to close your account entirely. This article explains how each option works, what happens to your data, stores, and billing, and how to choose the right option for your situation.

Key points about pausing and canceling

  • Pause your account suspends all activity and billing for up to 30 days. Your data, stores, products, and settings are preserved during the pause period. Your account reactivates automatically after 30 days.

  • Cancel a selling channel ends the subscription plan for one specific selling channel and permanently deletes all data associated with that selling channel, including stores, products, and orders for that selling channel. Other selling channels on your account remain active and unaffected.

  • Cancel your AutoDS subscription cancels all active subscription plans and add-ons at once and closes your AutoDS account. AutoDS retains your data for 14 days before permanent deletion.

  • Canceling a selling channel is not the same as canceling your AutoDS subscription. You can cancel one selling channel without affecting other selling channels or closing your account.

  • Canceling on AutoDS does not cancel your selling channel subscription only removes it from AutoDS. If you have a separate subscription with your selling channel (for example, a Shopify or eBay account), you must cancel that subscription directly through your selling channel account.

  • To stop future charges, cancel or pause before your next billing date. Once a selling channel or your AutoDS subscription is canceled, no further charges are applied.

Important: If you subscribed to AutoDS through the Shopify App Store, uninstalling the AutoDS app from your Shopify store does not cancel your AutoDS subscription. Charges continue until you actively cancel your subscription plan inside your AutoDS account. To cancel, go to Settings"Account & Billing", click "Manage/Cancel Account" at the bottom of the page, and follow the steps. You must also cancel the AutoDS subscription directly in your Shopify admin panel to stop any recurring charges billed through Shopify.

How to pause your AutoDS account

Pausing your AutoDS account suspends all activity and billing for up to 30 days while keeping your data saved. To pause your account:

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar of your AutoDS account.

  2. Click Account & Billing.

  3. Click "Manage/Cancel Account" at the bottom of the page.

  4. Select "Pause Account" when the pop-up appears.

  5. A confirmation message appears showing the scheduled reactivation date and details about your next charge.

What happens when you pause your account

  • Billing suspension: Billing is suspended during the 30-day pause period. Any paid days remaining on your subscription plan at the time of pausing are preserved and available once your account reactivates. If your account is still in the subscription plan trial period when you pause your account, the automatic trial-to-paid conversion charge is delayed, and your remaining trial days are preserved until you reactivate.

  • Data preservation: your data, including stores, products, and settings, is saved for 30 days. All scheduled uploads are canceled during the pause period.

  • Orders and automation: order fulfillment and automation stop immediately. Orders that were already fulfilled continue normally, but new orders cannot be fulfilled, and tracking conversion stops until the account is reactivated. Products remain listed on your selling channel, but price and stock monitoring pauses until the account reactivates.

  • Support access: support team access to review your account and run tests is suspended during the pause period. Support access is restored once the account is reactivated.

  • Multiple selling channels: pausing your AutoDS account pauses all subscription plans under your account for 30 days, not just one selling channel.

How to reactivate a paused account

You can reactivate your AutoDS account in two ways:

  1. Wait for automatic reactivation: after 30 days, your account reactivates automatically, and billing resumes.

  2. Manual reactivation: log back into your account before the 30-day pause period ends and confirm that you want to reactivate your account.

There is no limit to the number of times you can pause your account. If you need additional time after your account reactivates automatically, you can pause your account again.

Note: the "Pause Account" option is available only for accounts with an active status on AutoDS. If your account is on hold due to a failed payment, you may see the error "user doesn't have permission to do that", because certain actions are not available while your account is in that status. You must update your payment method in SettingsAccount & Billing to settle the outstanding balance first. Allow up to 12 hours for the payment to be processed. Once your account is active, the "Pause Account" option becomes available.

How to cancel a selling channel

Canceling a selling channel ends the subscription plan for one specific selling channel and permanently deletes all data associated with that selling channel. Other selling channels on your account remain active and unaffected. To cancel a selling channel:

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar of your AutoDS account.

  2. Click Plans & Add-ons.

  3. Find the subscription plan card for the selling channel you want to cancel.

  4. Click "Cancel" on the subscription plan card.

  5. A warning message appears showing the number of stores connected to the subscription plan, the number of product variations, the number of orders, and a warning that canceling permanently deletes all data associated with that selling channel from AutoDS.

  6. Click "Cancel subscription" to confirm the cancellation.

What happens when you cancel a selling channel

  • Data deletion: all data associated with the canceled selling channel is permanently deleted, including stores, products, and orders for that selling channel.

  • Immediate access loss: after confirming the cancellation, access to all stores associated with the canceled selling channel ends immediately, regardless of how much time remains in the billing cycle. Canceling a selling channel is different from downgrading: when you downgrade to a lower subscription plan, access continues until the end of your current billing period, but when you cancel a selling channel, access ends immediately.

  • Impact on your store listings: products already listed on your selling channel remain on your selling channel after cancellation. Those listings are no longer connected to or monitored by AutoDS. If you reactivate a subscription plan for the same selling channel, you need to resync your store to reconnect your existing listings.

  • Product images: if you added product images through AutoDS, those images may no longer be hosted after the selling channel is canceled.

  • No future charges: once a selling channel is canceled, no further charges are applied for that subscription plan.

  • Account status: if you only have one active selling channel, canceling that selling channel closes your AutoDS account entirely, because AutoDS requires at least one active subscription plan to keep the account active. If you have more than one active selling channel, each cancellation only affects the specific selling channel you canceled.

Note: if you only have one active selling channel and want to switch to a different selling channel, purchase the new selling channel subscription plan first, then cancel the selling channel you are leaving. Purchasing the new subscription plan first keeps your AutoDS account active during the transition. If you cancel your only active selling channel before purchasing a new one, your AutoDS account closes immediately.

How to cancel your AutoDS subscription

Canceling your AutoDS subscription cancels all active subscription plans and add-ons, closes your AutoDS account, and permanently deletes your data after 14 days. To cancel your AutoDS account:

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar of your AutoDS account.

  2. Click Account & Billing.

  3. Click "Manage/Cancel Account" at the bottom of the page.

  4. A pop-up appears. Click "Cancel Subscription".

  5. Select which subscription plan to cancel. If you have multiple active selling channels, you must cancel each one individually before your AutoDS account can be closed.

  6. A warning message appears stating that canceling permanently deletes all your data, including stores, products, and orders. Click "Cancel Account" to proceed.

  7. Select the reason you are leaving. Your feedback helps AutoDS improve the platform.

You can also cancel your AutoDS subscription from a mobile device:

  1. Open your browser and log in to your AutoDS account.

  2. Enable desktop view by selecting the desktop view option at the top of the browser interface.

  3. Navigate to SettingsAccount & Billing.

  4. Click "Manage Account" at the bottom of the page. If the "Manage Account" button is not visible, zoom out the browser tab using your browser menu to reveal hidden elements on the page.

  5. Follow the same cancellation steps described above.

Note:

  • Account cancellations can only be performed from the main AutoDS account. VA users do not have access to the Account & Billing page and cannot cancel the account.

  • If you are canceling from a mobile browser, the page may be harder to navigate. For the most convenient experience, cancel from a desktop computer.

  • Besides that, to cancel your AutoDS subscription, you must have an active account. If your account is on hold or inactive due to an unsuccessful payment, the "Cancel Subscription" option will not appear. Update your payment method in "Settings""Account & Billing" to settle the outstanding balance, or, if you no longer want to continue, let us know so we can cancel your account for you.

What happens when you cancel your AutoDS subscription

  • Immediate access loss: you immediately lose access to your AutoDS account, all active subscription plans and add-ons are canceled, and order automation stops.

  • Data retention and deletion: AutoDS retains your data for 14 days after cancellation. After 14 days, all data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. AutoDS does not offer an export feature for products or order data. Before canceling your AutoDS subscription, manually copy any necessary information to a separate location.

  • Impact on orders: all order automation stops immediately. Orders set to be processed automatically through Auto-Order or Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA) are no longer fulfilled. You need to process pending orders manually through your supplier accounts and selling channels.

  • Impact on your store listings: canceling your AutoDS subscription does not delete products from your selling channel. Products already listed on your selling channel remain there, but are no longer connected to or monitored by AutoDS.

  • Billing: all refund requests are reviewed in accordance with the AutoDS Terms of Service.

  • No future charges: if you cancel before your next billing date, no further charges are applied.

  • Credits and Fulfilled by AutoDS (FBA) Managed Balance: your AI credits, Auto-Order credits, Finder credits, and FBA Managed Balance remain available on your account after cancellation. AutoDS credits can be refunded only if the request is made within 24 hours of purchase and the credits have not been used. After that window, or if any credits were used, they are non-refundable. To withdraw your FBA Managed Balance after account deletion, please let us know so the AutoDS support team can review your request in accordance with the AutoDS Terms of Service and FBA Terms and Conditions.

Note: If you are still on the onboarding questionnaire and cannot see Settings, click through the remaining onboarding steps, or close the questionnaire using the down arrow at the top of the screen, to reach your dashboard. Once you reach the dashboard, click SettingsAccount & Billing → "Manage Account" at the bottom of the page.

Account recovery and recreation

  • Recovery period: You can recover your AutoDS account within 14 days by registering again using the same email address through the Sign Up flow, not by logging in. Logging in with a deleted account's credentials returns an "Email is not found" error. If you reactivate your account within the 14-day recovery period, your credits and FBA Managed Balance are still available.

Important: When you register again using the same email during the recovery window, the system displays the plan selection page and asks you to register for a plan again. This does not mean your previous data was lost or that you are being charged again immediately. It means the subscription was canceled and the system treats the account as unsubscribed. To reactivate, select a plan on that screen and complete the registration. You will receive a new 3-day trial period. Your previous data, stores, products, and settings remain available during the 14-day recovery window and are restored once you reactivate.

  • After 14 days: all data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

  • Account recreation: after permanent deletion, you can register again with the same email address to create a new AutoDS account. Registering again does not restore your previous stores, products, orders, or settings. If your account was originally registered through a selling channel app, such as the Shopify App Store, the channel restriction is not removed by deletion. You must register the new account directly on autods.com using a different email address.

  • Complete data removal (GDPR): if you want all personal data associated with your AutoDS account to be permanently and completely removed, you must explicitly request full data deletion through AutoDS support. Canceling or deleting your AutoDS account alone does not trigger complete data removal. Please let us know that you want all personal data fully deleted so the AutoDS support team can process your request in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

How to cancel when your account is paused

If your account is paused and you want to cancel your AutoDS subscription, you must reactivate your account first. Canceling directly from a paused state is not possible.

After you reactivate your paused account, follow these steps to cancel:

  1. Log in to your AutoDS account and confirm reactivation when prompted.

  2. Go to SettingsAccount & Billing.

  3. Click "Manage/Cancel Account" at the bottom of the page and follow the cancellation steps immediately.

Important: your next billing date depends on when your account was originally paused. If your billing date falls shortly after reactivation, you could be charged before completing the cancellation. If you are not sure when you paused your account or when your billing date is, please let us know so the billing team can check the timing and cancel on your behalf to avoid any unexpected charges.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between pausing my account, canceling a selling channel, and canceling my AutoDS subscription?

Pausing your account suspends all activity and billing for up to 30 days while preserving your data, stores, products, and settings. Your account reactivates automatically after 30 days. Canceling a selling channel ends the subscription plan for one specific selling channel and permanently deletes all data associated with that selling channel, but other selling channels on your account remain active. Canceling your AutoDS subscription cancels all active subscription plans and add-ons, closes your AutoDS account, and permanently deletes your data after 14 days.

Will I still be charged after canceling a selling channel or my AutoDS subscription?

No. Once a selling channel or your AutoDS subscription is canceled, no further charges are applied for the canceled subscription plan or account. To avoid being charged on your next billing date, cancel before that date. If you have questions about a charge that appeared after canceling, please let us know so the AutoDS support team can review your billing details.

What happens to the products listed on my store after I cancel?

Products already listed on your selling channel remain on your selling channel after canceling a selling channel or your AutoDS subscription. Those listings are no longer connected to or monitored by AutoDS, which means price and stock monitoring stop, and automation no longer applies to those products. If you added product images through AutoDS, those images may no longer be hosted after cancellation.

Do I need to uninstall AutoDS from my Shopify admin panel to stop billing?

Canceling your AutoDS subscription from SettingsAccount & Billing is enough to stop AutoDS charges. Uninstalling the AutoDS app from your Shopify admin panel does not cancel your subscription and does not stop billing.

If you want to fully remove the AutoDS app from your Shopify store after canceling your subscription, you can uninstall it from your Shopify admin panel at any time.

To uninstall the AutoDS app from your Shopify store:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel.

  2. Click "Settings" at the bottom left of the page.

  3. Select "Apps and sales channels".

  4. Find "AutoDS" in the list, click the three dots next to it, then select "Uninstall".

Do I need to cancel each selling channel separately?

If you want to cancel only one selling channel, go to SettingsPlans & Add-ons and cancel the specific selling channel you want to remove. Other selling channels on your account remain active. If you want to cancel all selling channels and close your AutoDS account entirely, go to SettingsAccount & Billing → "Manage/Cancel Account" and follow the steps to cancel your AutoDS subscription, which cancels all selling channels at once.

How do I cancel my subscription plan before the trial ends to avoid being charged?

To cancel before your subscription plan trial period ends, follow the same steps as canceling a selling channel or canceling your AutoDS subscription. If you cancel before the subscription plan trial period ends, your payment method is not charged. The cancellation takes effect immediately, and you lose access to the canceled selling channel or your AutoDS account at that moment, not at the end of the subscription plan trial period.

I want to cancel my account, but I cannot access the AutoDS platform or see any pages. What should I do?

If you registered but did not complete the trial payment, your account was not fully created. The registration process stopped before it was finished, which is why the platform is asking for your payment details again. There is nothing to cancel. The process will not continue unless you choose to complete it. If you have any concerns or want to confirm that nothing was charged, please let us know so the AutoDS support team can verify your account status.

I started signing up for AutoDS but did not finish. Is my account created? Do I need to cancel anything?

If you did not complete the registration process, your account was not created. There is nothing to cancel, and the process will not continue unless you choose to complete it. If you have any concerns, please let us know so the AutoDS support team can confirm that nothing was processed.

How can I confirm that my cancellation was successful?

AutoDS does not send a separate cancellation confirmation email. Once your AutoDS subscription is canceled, you lose access to the platform immediately, and this loss of access is itself the confirmation that the cancellation was processed. If you want explicit confirmation, or if you are not sure whether your cancellation went through, let us know so the AutoDS support team can check your account and confirm it for you.

I am still being charged after I canceled the account. What should I do?

Each AutoDS account is tied to a single email address, and each email address can only have one AutoDS account. If you are being charged but the account you can access shows no active subscription, you most likely registered a second AutoDS account using a different email address, and that second account is the one being charged. Check your email inbox for AutoDS registration and payment receipts to identify which email address is associated with the active, charged subscription, then log in with that email address to manage or cancel it directly.

What if I cannot access the "Cancel subscription" option?

If the 'Cancel subscription' option is not available, make sure you are logged in to the correct account if you have more than one AutoDS account. If you are in the correct account and the option is still not available, your account is likely on hold or inactive due to an unsuccessful payment. Update your payment method in "Settings""Account & Billing" to settle the outstanding balance, or, if you no longer want to continue, let us know so we can cancel your account for you.
