Keyword blacklist: protect your store from VERO, brand, and copyright violations
Prevent copyright, trademark, and brand violations by using a keyword blacklist.
Protecting your store from potential trademark violations is essential to maintaining a healthy seller account. While AutoDS provides a comprehensive VERO protection list containing thousands of restricted brands and keywords, you can enhance this protection by adding your own specific keywords and brand names to your personal blacklist.
This article explains how to add your own keywords to the blacklist. To learn more about VERO protection, check out this article.
AutoDS includes a built-in VERO Blocklist that is updated periodically. However, brand and copyright violations are highly dynamic, and no system can guarantee full protection against eBay’s VERO restrictions.
To minimize risk, we strongly recommend that you manually maintain your own Keywords Blacklist, adding any specific brands, terms, or keywords relevant to your store.
This ensures better protection, especially against newer or niche violations that automated systems may not catch in real time. This article explains how to use the Keywords Blacklist feature to help with that.

Upload Behavior for Blocked Keywords
Upload Method |
System Behavior |
---|---|
Drafts |
If a product with a restricted keyword is added as a draft and the action is set to “Don’t upload the product”, the system will still add it to your Drafts but display a warning. You can choose to fix the issue or continue to publish. |
Imported directly to the store |
If a product is uploaded directly and the action is set to “Don’t upload the product”, the upload will fail. The system will block the listing due to restricted keywords in the title, description, or manufacturer fields. |
