What is Print-on-demand (POD)? 

Print-on-demand is a business model where products are manufactured as ordered, eliminating the need for inventory. It allows you to design and sell custom products like apparel, accessories, and homeware without handling production or shipping.

With POD, items are created and shipped to customers only after placing orders.

This model provides flexibility for customization and scalability, making it a popular choice for many online businesses and independent creators looking to bring their designs to market without the hassle of traditional manufacturing and logistics.

Print on demand in AutoDS

To start designing your own products, click on the 'Print on demand' section on the sidebar menu:

And select the product category you would like to begin your designs with (Apparel, accessories, Home, etc):

To design a product, hover over the relevant product and click on 'Edit product' and a design pop-up will open:

(Please check the featured numbers in the following image. You will find a detailed explanation of each featured number below the image.)

1. Colors - select the product color (Note: If you want different color options for the product, be sure to add the preferred colors, and all sizes will be created automatically)
2. Side - select which side of the product to design (front/back)
3. Upload design - upload the image (Note: the recommendation is 2100x2400 px and Max filesize of 5MB)
4. Center & delete
5. Preview - preview the designed product before adding it to your store 

Once finished, click on 'Save' and the product will be added to your 'Drafts' section

Before publishing, you can edit the product's title, description, design, and more.

To publish the product, click on import. Learn more here on how to import drafts to your store.

Product information

Click on the product's image for all the relevant information about the products such as pricing, shipping time, and more. (Please check the featured numbers in the following image. You will find a detailed explanation of each featured number below the image)

1. Item cost - item cost range (each color/size can cost differently)
2. Variations- the available colors and size for this product
3. Shipping & processing time - the time range for processing and shipping (keep in mind these are business days)
4. Shipping price- price range for shipping (each shipping method has a different rate). To view the methods and rates, click on 'view shipping options'.
   
5. Edit product- Design the product
6. Message to the supplier- send a message to AutoDS Print-On-Demand team. 
7. Product info - product's description and info (such as material, etc)

Orders from Print On Demand

To place orders from the Print On Demand feature, the FBA service, and Auto-Order must both be active in your supplier settings. These two tools work together to manage the fulfillment of your customized products smoothly.
