Change your email or password, reset your login, Google authentication, and AutoDS email delivery

Update your email address or password, reset a forgotten password, troubleshoot missing AutoDS emails, and log out of your account.

Your AutoDS account login method determines how your email address and password are managed. This article covers how to update your credentials, reset a forgotten password, troubleshoot missing emails, and log out of AutoDS.

Key points about AutoDS account types

There are two types of AutoDS accounts, based on how the account was created during registration. The account type determines how your login credentials (email and password) are managed and what you can change directly in AutoDS.

  • Email and password account. Created by registering with an email address and choosing a password on the AutoDS registration page. Your email address and password are managed directly in AutoDS, under Settings > Account & Billing. You can change your email address and your password at any time.

  • Google authentication account. Created by selecting "Sign in with Google" during registration. Your email address and password are managed by Google, not by AutoDS. To change the email address or password associated with a Google authentication account, you must update those credentials in your Google Account settings. AutoDS does not have access to modify Google-managed credentials.

Important: A Google authentication account cannot be converted to an email and password account, and an email and password account cannot be converted to a Google authentication account. The account type is set at registration and cannot be changed. To grant access to other people, such as team members or virtual assistants, without sharing your login credentials, you can create VA (Virtual Assistant) user accounts directly in AutoDS. To learn more about VA users, including how to create them and what permissions are available, see Virtual Assistant Users (VAs): create and manage permissions.

How to change your email address

You can change the email address associated with your AutoDS account directly in the platform. This option is available only for accounts created with an email and password during registration.

To change your email address:

  1. Go to Settings > Account & Billing.

  2. Click "Change Email".

  3. In the pop-up window, enter your new email address.

  4. Re-enter your new email address to confirm.

  5. Click "Change Email".

After completing these steps, your account will be associated with the new email address, and all future communications from AutoDS will be sent to the new address.

Important: If your account was created using Google authentication, you cannot change your email address in AutoDS. Your email address is managed by Google and must be updated in Google Account settings. Any changes made in Google will automatically apply the next time you sign in to AutoDS with Google.

How to change your password

You can change the password associated with your AutoDS account directly in the platform. This option is available only for accounts created with an email and password during registration.

To change your password:

  1. Go to Settings > Account & Billing.

  2. Click "Change Password".

  3. In the pop-up window, enter your current password.

  4. Enter your new password.

  5. Re-enter your new password to confirm.

  6. Click "Save Password".

Important: If your account was created using Google authentication, you cannot change your password in AutoDS. Your password is managed by Google and must be updated in Google Account settings. Any changes made in Google will automatically apply the next time you sign in to AutoDS with Google.

How to reset your password

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it from the login page. This option is available only for accounts created with an email and password during registration.

To reset a forgotten password:

  1. Go to autods.com.

  2. Click "Sign In".

  3. Click "Forgot password?".

  4. Enter the email address you used during registration.

  5. Click "Reset Password".

You will receive an email from AutoDS with a link to set a new password. Follow the instructions in the email to complete the reset and regain access to your account.

Note: If the password reset email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. If the email is not there, verify that the email address you entered matches the one used during registration and try requesting the reset again. For further troubleshooting, see the "AutoDS emails not received" section below.

Important: If your account was created using Google authentication, the "Forget password?" option will not work. A message will appear stating "This email is associated with an account that uses Google login." To recover access to a Google authentication account, use the Google Account recovery page instead.

AutoDS emails not received: how to fix email delivery

AutoDS sends automated emails for support ticket updates, order notifications, and platform alerts. Email providers such as Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo may filter these messages as spam or block them, preventing them from reaching your inbox.

To ensure all AutoDS emails are delivered correctly, you must whitelist the sender address [email protected] in your email provider settings.

Important: The [email protected] email address is used exclusively for automated system notifications and support ticket updates. To contact the AutoDS support team, use the official support channels.

How to whitelist AutoDS emails in Gmail

Step 1: Add the AutoDS email to your contacts

Adding [email protected] to your Gmail contacts tells Gmail that AutoDS emails are trusted and should be delivered to your inbox.

  1. Sign in to your Gmail account at gmail.com.

  2. Click the "Google Apps" icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Open "Contacts".

  4. Click "Create contact".

  5. Add [email protected] as the email address and save the contact.

Note: Gmail typically prioritizes emails from your contacts, so adding the AutoDS email to your contacts often resolves the issue immediately.

Step 2: Mark messages as "Not spam"

If Gmail has already filtered AutoDS emails into your spam folder, you need to mark those messages as legitimate.

  1. Go to your "Spam" folder.

  2. Search for emails from [email protected].

  3. Select the AutoDS messages.

  4. Click "More" > "Not spam".

Step 3: Create a filter to prevent future spam filtering

A Gmail filter provides the most reliable way to ensure AutoDS emails always reach your inbox.

  1. Click the "Gear" icon > "See all settings".

  2. Go to the "Filters and blocked addresses" tab.

  3. Click "Create a new filter".

  4. In the "From" field, enter [email protected].

  5. Click "Create filter".

  6. Select "Never send it to spam".

  7. Click "Create filter" again to save.

Tip: To whitelist all emails from the AutoDS domain, enter autods.com in the "From" field instead of the individual email address.

Other email providers

For Outlook, Yahoo, or other email providers, the whitelisting process is similar. Check your provider's help documentation for specific instructions on how to add trusted senders:

How to log out of AutoDS

To log out of your AutoDS account:

  1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Select "Log out" from the dropdown menu.

You will be signed out immediately and redirected to the login page.

Note: If you are experiencing display or access issues, logging out and signing back in may help resolve them. In some cases, clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window can also fix session-related issues.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I change my email address or password if I registered with Google authentication?

Accounts created using Google authentication have their email address and password managed by Google, not by AutoDS. To change them, go to your Google Account settings and update your credentials there. The changes will apply automatically the next time you sign in to AutoDS with Google.

Can I have two email addresses associated with the same AutoDS account?

Each AutoDS account can only be associated with one email address. If you need to change the email address linked to your account, follow the steps in the "How to change your email address" section above. The previous email address will no longer be associated with the account after the change.

What are VA users and how can I grant access to my account without sharing my credentials?

VA (Virtual Assistant) users are separate user accounts that you can create directly in AutoDS to grant access to team members, employees, or virtual assistants. Each VA user has their own login credentials and configurable permissions, so you do not need to share your personal email, password, or Google login. This is especially useful for Google authentication accounts, where credentials cannot be changed or separated from the account owner's Google account. To learn more about how to create VA users and manage their permissions, see Virtual Assistant Users (VAs): create and manage permissions.

How can I reset my password if I no longer have access to my registration email?

If you no longer have access to the email address used during registration, you will not be able to use the "Password Help?" option on the login page, because the password reset link is sent to that email address. In this case, please contact the AutoDS support team through the official support channels and provide proof of account ownership so the team can assist with recovering access to your account.

Can I update my credentials from the mobile app?

Updates to your AutoDS email and password are currently supported only on the web version of the platform.

Please note, this option is available only for accounts created with an email and password during registration, not connected to a Google account. If your account was created using Google authentication, your credentials are managed by Google and must be updated in your Google Account settings.

To change your email or password on the web, navigate to "Settings""Account & Billing".

Can I change the name on my AutoDS account?

The account owner's name (the profile name displayed on your AutoDS account) cannot be changed through the platform settings. If you want to update your account name, please let us know so an agent can process the change on your behalf.

This is different from your store name. To update your store name:

  1. Click the "pen icon" next to your store name in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the "three-dot menu""Rename".

Will changing my email address affect my active subscriptions or store connections?

Changing your email address updates your login credentials and where AutoDS sends notifications, but it does not affect your active subscriptions, store connections, or any other account features. All your settings, products, and orders remain intact after updating your email address.

Can I set separate passwords or logins for each store within the same AutoDS account?

AutoDS does not support separate passwords or logins per store within the same account. All stores under the same account are accessed through the same login credentials. To switch between stores, use the store selector in your AutoDS platform and always confirm which store is selected before making any updates.

To grant access to team members or virtual assistants without sharing your login credentials, you can create VA (Virtual Assistant) user accounts directly in AutoDS. Each VA user has their own login and configurable permissions. To learn more, see Virtual Assistant Users (VAs): create and manage permissions.
